the hinge means that this bangle fits closer to your wrist. the wave design and the high polish makes it look classy. its not flimsy but its not too heavy and clompy. i bought the size 7inch which fit perfectly and is a generous size. it has two extra safety clasps for added security but its still easy to get on and off LOVE IT
