What is 18K Gold Vermeil?
Gold vermeil is a French term for giving your jewellery a real gold appearance. However, gold vermeil does NOT equal to gold plating. A jewellery piece can only be considered gold vermeil if it:
1. Has a base metal of 925 sterling silver. Rachel Gallery is all made in sterling silver or real hallmarked gold.
2. Used with at least 10K real gold. Here at Rachel Galley, we use 18K Gold.
3. The plating needs to be at least 2.5 micron thick.
Rachel Galley designs offer you 18K gold plated to the thickness of 2.5 microns, making our jewellery last much longer and shine like real gold at fraction of the price.
